Marlon Molina brings more than 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors, with a career grounded in advancing equitable economic and community development. He currently serves as Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Planning and Community Development for the City of Mount Vernon, NY, where he leads citywide initiatives spanning land use, economic development, and community engagement. Over the past several years, he has played a senior leadership role in designing and implementing programs that strengthen neighborhoods and improve quality of life across Mount Vernon and Westchester County.Â
A community organizer at heart, Marlon has consistently championed grassroots organizations as critical partners in driving meaningful and sustainable change. He began his career in the South Bronx organizing tenant and neighborhood associations, building coalitions between residents, businesses, and government to revitalize vacant properties, preserve affordable housing, enhance public safety, and expand access to financial services. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to ensuring that community voices—especially those historically underrepresented are centered in planning and policy decisions while also contributing to broader regional and New York City–based efforts..
Marlon’s dedication to public service extends to his leadership on nonprofit boards, where he supports initiatives that empower Latino communities and strengthen civic engagement. He is proud to serve on the Board of Westchester Latinos Unidos and the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau, advancing opportunities for families, youth, and grassroots leaders across the region. He holds a degree in Political Science and Economics from Fordham University.
